If you are here is how you start to work on the problem. The bad breath symtom is referred to halitosis, but this doesn’t really explain what the reall problem is. If you find that you are constantly brushing, flossing, and doing mouth wash more than two times a day then you might be dealing with something that is more of an chronic problem.

5) Blockage of the nasal path could be an issue also, resulting in constant sinus drainage, sinus infections, and constant bad mucus breath. Your throat will experience constant pain, due to the influx of drainage. Your ENT should recognize the blockage. If you want to be certain, ask for a CT scan.

First you will need to get a skin test to see if what you are experiencing is an allergy problem. Your allergist will then start you on immunotherapy if all of the allergy medicines is not effective. He will mostly likely keep you on one or two meds. while doing the immunotherapy. If the immunotherapy is not stopping the nasal drainage, then ask him to referr you to an Eare, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialist. This is the last line of defense. ENT specialist will try everything to before giving you an o.k. for sugary, but let them know that you have tried everything but sinus surgary. Be absolute, and let them know that you would like a CT scan. When you get the CT scan the ENT must go over the findings with you. If there is even a hint of blockage, ask for surgary.

At home remedies for dachshund bad breath?

I have a year old miniature dachshund who has awful breath. He is completely healthy, I brush his teeth with doggy toothpaste once a week-ish, I also have doggy breath spray for him, these only seem to work for a day or two and then the horrid breath is back. I took him to the vet and they gave him dental chews which did absolutely nothing. Is there anything I can do that will help? Thanks.
His vet said not to brush his teeth more than once a week, but they don’t seem to know what they are talking about most of the time, hence the question.

Cat dental issues?

My 9-year old cat is refusing to eat sometimes and hides under the bed. He is not very friendly and to make matters worse, I found a tooth on the carpet today. He has bad breath. During the years he has bitten me white I try to clean his teeth with chicken flavored tartar control cat toothpaste, and he dislikes any tartar control cat treats. Today, I’ve called around to different vets to evaluate his dental issues but they’ve given me a range of prices 0-0 for different "standard" services: blood work, x-rays, iv fluids/catheter, anesthesia, thermal warming, sealant, ekg, fecal test, pain meds, antibiotics. What does my cat really need for treatment of dental issues?
Obviously, the question is not "if" he gets the care, he "has" to get the care right away. I’m concerned about the least possible amount of discomfort and the best care to help his condition. I’m not familiar with what is "extra" and what is required.
