Poor dental hygiene is the commonest cause of halitosis. So, simple oral/dental care may solve such problem. However, several medical conditions too have to be ruled out especially when simple dental hygiene fails. These include oral sores, upper respiratory tract infections, tonsillitis, liver and kidney diseases and diabetes. Put in another way, halitosis may be a dental or Medical condition that may require the intervention of the Dentist or the Physician. So, if it fails to resolve itself or respond to aggressive oral/dental care, please see your Doctor immediately.
