Can a lack of flossing cause super bad breath?

My friend has bad breath so bad it stinks up an entire room. He brushes regularly but never flosses. Could this be the reason? He went to the dentist, has no decay, no cavities, yet his mouth smells like a sewer. ????????

yeah, just imagine a peice of chicken you left on the counter for a month..thats whats in your teeth if you dont floss.
really bad breath is called halitosis. i would say that it could be caused by not flossing. flossing helps you keep healthy gums. this friend should probably see a dentist about it.
yeaa of course! Floss every night, people. If you don’t, the food stuck in between your teeth can rot overnight and there’s gonna be bacteria (which is the main cause of bad breath). Tell him to floss and use mouthwash !
yep -brush and floss daily, see a dentist twice a year, drink lots of water, chew sugar free gum, don’t use tobacco, and follow up with the dentist for the halitosis.
There are several causes to bad breath other than oral health. One major cause can be a sinus infection. Since the air you speak goes through the sinus cavities, it tends to take the foul infected odor along with it.
Ask your friend to see a nose and throat doctor to discuss his halitosis. Perhaps an x-ray can pinpoint any sinus issues.
Other factors could include diet, stomach ailments, or lung infection. Wherever there is an odor, there is a cause. And causes can be remedied!

My sister told me of a dentist who never brushes but flosses instead. The tongue harbours bacteria so you need to brush it well. Aside from that certain foods like onions and garlic can cause bad breath. A dry mouth too can do that so have some sugar free chewing gum to get the salivary glands working.
lack of flossing can cause bad breath but not that bad as you mentioned. He is having some other problem like lungs or troath or sinus. Check with the ENT.
