Can secondhand smoke cause bad breath?

I have a friend who is always around smokers and every time I talk to him his breath reeks of cigarette smoke! He swears he never smokes and his hair/clothes never smell, but the scent on his breath is so strong. Is it really just secondhand smoke?

No. That makes about as much sense as saying that hanging around with someone who ate fish gives them fish breath.
