Bad Breath Causes, Cure & Treatment

My 16mth old daughter has had a bad, deep wet cough for about 4 days now. It started on a Sunday & she was running 102.6 fever. I got that down & took her to the doctor on Monday. Her regular pediatrician was full so we saw the only one available. Both of my sons had pneumonia 1 week ago & were on meds for that. The doctor barely listened to her (she was crying)& said "Oh it’s just a virus-she’ll be fine!"She was running a low grade fever when the doc checked! Her cough is terrible. It goes on all day & were up all night! I put a humidifier in her room & covered her in Vick’s but it doesn’t help! Her nose runs constantly-changing from clear to green/yellow! Fever isn’t really present anymore. But all she wants to do is sleep in the afternoon because she’s so tired from coughing 24/7 & it’s a very hard cough! She’s not eating near what she normally does & drinks some but she’s so congested that she can’t since she can’t breath! I don’t know what to do anymore! I thought of taking her to the ER & asking for a chest x-ray just to rule out any possible infection! She is scheduled to get her 2nd set of ear tubes & her adenoids(sp?)removed in 2wks & her ears are clear at the moment! She also has a nebulizer w/Xopenex that we do 3-4 times a day as directed but it doesn’t help any with her cough! Should I wait this out or take her to the ER just to be on the safe side since the doctor wouldn’t look any further into this?? Thank you for your help!!!

whenever he opens his mouth, it smells like he just had sewage for his last meal..
we took him to the vet a few months ago for dental treatment,
and they removed 2 of his teeth, and gave him some dental chews, told us to change his food.
a few months later his bad breath is back. why’s this?
he’s a 4-year-old maltese btw.
I’m trying to put together information on natural remedies for curing bad breath.
Bad breath, now that’s something which is not pleasant and is certainly not to be laughed at. What I’m doing in this question is throwing out what seems to be the most popular natural treatments for bad breath and asking readers to respond if they’ve ever used any of them, how and what results did they receive. Myself I’m inclined to opt for gargling with baking soda and while I don’t do it all the time I quite often replace my regular toothpaste with baking soda. Maybe it’s my imagination but I think it whitens them that little bit more
A quick Google will throw up many thousands of pages on the topic most seem to come down to
•The use of baking soda either in addition to or a replacement for your every day toothpaste.
•Speaking of toothpaste and brushing your teeth remember it’s at least twice daily.
•Gargling with salt water also seems to very popular, and I have come across a site that suggests salt and pepper.
•A drop or two of Tee Tree Oil in a glass of warm water for gargling seems to be popular but it is pointed out that you should not swallow.
•Gargling with a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar in a glass of warm water also seems to be quite popular
•Eating of avocado to remove intestinal decomposition is also advised for killing off bad breath.
•And if you are going on that heavy date chew a little on parsley or spearmint, it won’t cure the bad breath but it will hide it for a while.
So there you are that’s the research I’ve come up with but how about some real life stories about how you stopped bad breath and how long it took? As mentioned above I regularly use a baking soda gargle and baking soda as a toothpaste
Thanks for the contributions – Kevin
I am 22 yrs old, im 5′6" and weight 200lbs. I was honorably discharged from the military in 2008 with Marfan Syndrome and am currently awaiting treatment at the VA Hospital in MN. I gradually gained the extra 60lbs after i was discharged in Jan 2008 due to inability to exercise efficiently. i suffer from anxiety but have not had and panic attacks and rarely have pain when anxious. I have been having daily chest pain directly over my heart for the past year or so and the other day i looked in the mirror and saw that i had very prominent blue veins going from what looked like my heart area over to my shoulder and down my left arm. It most often hurts when i am out and about shopping and it is a sharp pain that causes me to draw in my breath and hold it, it sometimes goes to my left shoulder and left part of my back and often is accompanied by a heart flutter. I try not to panic as that would probably make the pain worse. I have no health insurance and have been wondering if this is life threatening enough to pay for an expensive emergency room bill? I do have acid reflux but this is a different kind of pain. I do not want to wait to long and risk damage or worse. What do you think this sounds like and is this an urgent emergency?
also if i get startled by a noise or my fiance scares me or somthing, my heart hurts really bad. Also when my heart hurts it is often accompanied by sweaty palms and feet and shakeing.

So Last night early this fine fine morning I was absolutely exhausted and didn’t think about sitting up when I drank and BAM anxiety hit like a stroke of lightning and being the absolute genius that I am decided to see what the symptoms were I thought I was going to die and doctor say "its very very bad to have fluid in your lungs" Ive also been increasing my exercise and have always had pain in my chest not lungs but below my breasticals. I think i’m making myself feel this pain. It hurts to breath out but then again I have been up for hours. Im pretty sure I would have had a choking moment if It did go in my lungs but I’m not sure I already had a doctors appointment today so ill ask then but until then any help/advise/ or just tell me how you shouldn’t self diagnose yourself…. Also being the smart kid I am AGAIN looked at treatments and said pills can sure minor fluid? Im hoping this is true… Thanks Guys

ok…this is a little embarrassing, but i need a lil help! why is it that after i eat my breath smells..i understand that it will leave a bit of a smell from the food but even if i have some mints it doesn’t get rid of the smell? like when i have my breakfast it smells after, i have a mint and its ok but say when im at school i have lunch drink water to get rid of food smell and have a mint and the smell is still there.
i cant keep brushing my teeth so what do i do? i heard about a home remedy i think it was mixing water, honey and cinnamon power and gargling, but after you eat it will take the nice smell away?
