dogs bad breath?

I live in the doncaster area, and have a four year old toy poodle. he suffers really badley from bad breath, recentley I found out that most of his teeth are bad and his gums are inflamed. he needs a full dental but Im a single parent living alone and cant afford it. Does anyone no of a vet in the doncaster area that accepts monthly or weekly payments after treatment of your animal.this would be a great help if you do because my little fella is suffering.THANKS.

Try the PDSA, don’t listen to the spiteful comments. For all the people making comment without knowing your situation. You may have had this dog before your situation changed financially. How many pet owners would throw their beloved animal out if something happened that changed their finances.
If you cannot afford to give your pet the care he needs be it financial or otherwise then you should not own a dog. Do you have health insurance. I guess not.
However I believe there is a charity that provides vet care for these poor creatures free of charge or at a cheaper rate for the morons on benefets that they have to rely on

In the US there is a company called Care Credit that allows you to make payments on medical, dental and veterinary services. Also the vast majority of veterinarians accept credit cards.
Also, you might consider getting veterinary insurance… I know it sounds weird but it helps when you come into problems like this. While you’ll have a monthly payment it really helps when a big expense comes up.
You don’t say which Doncaster you live in- there are many Doncaster’s in the world.

Now get that dog to the vet!!! You have no more excuses. CareCredit means that your vet gets paid, the dog gets the medical care he is entitled to BY LAW, and you can make monthly payments on a NO-interest loan.
Are you aware that your dog has a RIGHT to medical care by law and that if you deny it you are guilty of abuse? That poor poodle is in pain. If his teeth are that bad, he needs not just a vet but one that is board-certified in dentistry. Make the effort to get the proper care for him and you will actually save money, since you won’t have to go from the vet’s office to a specialist’s office. Go directly to the board-certified vet. You can have them send a copy of your dog’s records over from your regular vet.

If you get into contact with the PDSA then they might be able to help you with most if not all the cost. It’s a British charity that helps those in difficult financial situations get vet treatment for sick pets. Also look in the phone book or online for vets in the area and call them all up and ask about payment plans. Other than the phone bill it’s free and you’ll probably find what you’re looking for. Please visit a pet shop and buy a doggie toothbrush and toothpaste. If you clean his teeth weekly, or even more often, hopefully this can be avoided in the future. =) Obviously he’ll probably not want you anywhere near his teeth until the inflammation and bad teeth has been dealt with, but as soon as he’s had treatment and healed up you should start brushing. If he’s on wet food you could give consideration to switching him to dry food, perhaps the type advertised as tooth-cleaning. It causes less teeth problems than wet stuff as it doesn’t stick to the teeth so much. Good luck, and I hope your woofer can get treatment soon.

The main thing is that you are acting as a responsible pet owner – hope you locate someone that can help you out – all the best for the pooch too.
Have you got a PDSA in Doncaster, the RSPCA should be able to advise you on whether there’s one local to you and if not will let you know were the nearest one is, the PDSA is for people like yourself on a very low income and they will either do the treatment for free or change you a very limited amount, maybe you could look on the Internet for your nearest one, hope this helps and the best of luck to your dog and you.

In some circumstances the PDSA may be able to assist in the payment of veterinary fees. Help is restricted to particular areas of residence and to clients receiving state benefits. Pets must be registered in advance –
call your vets & ask if the above could help pay towards the bill. A lot of vets use the PDSA they can help. Also if you are on benifits you can ask your local job centre or were ever you get them from they can some times get in contact with the vet & you get help I think you pay something like £3 & they pay all your vet bill.

if you take your dog to blue cross they will see that your dog gets the dental treatment he needs and they will tell you just to give them a small donation as you are on low income the other group that can and will help you is the pdsa and they have the same rules as blue cross have.but let them know that you are eigther on income support or low income whitch ever one applies to you ‘yourdog doese not have to suffer . the donation is just what you can afford they will even except 50pence if that is all you are able to give.
