How can I get rid of my bad breath?
I brush my teeth twice a day and floss, but I tend to get really bad breath about an hour after brushing. It’s especially bad after eating and sleeping. I know this is normal, but is there any way to reduce it’s potency or get rid of it completely other than constantly eating breath mints or chewing gum? When I’m talking to people, I always try to stay at a bit of a distance because I’m always worried that they’ll smell it. I’ve been on the other end of that situation and it’s not fun. Anyone have any solutions?

You might have halitosis. Go to your dentist and find out if you do. It is actually caused by stones in your tonsils. Dentists numb a patient’s throat and burn the stones with a laser and BAM! Your bad breath is gone. This only works for people with tonsil stones, though. You might want to check it out.
The proteins in semen can help counteract the bacteria that causes bad breath. I know it seems unorthodox, but I have recommended this to hundreds of the patients in my practice. They have all come back to me with positive results.
Go to qvc.com and get TriOral mouthwash. It does the trick. Try it! I have been using it for years.

Go ahead and use mouthwash too that specifically fights bad breath. Also, I know you mentioned it, but you should just carry around the spearmint or dinnamon Icebreaker containers.
My best guess, is that you need a deep cleaning from a gum specialist (dentist). It’s very good that you take care of your teeth by brushing and cleaning but sometimes, certain people tend to produce more tartar than others. For you, it might be under the gum line where neither you, nor your hygenist can reach. If you go see a dentist and ask about a deep cleaning, i think you will be happy to know it will significantly reduce a foul breath.
Really bad breath can be a chronic problem known as Halitosis. With halitosis, there is most likely an underlying problem causing it. Some of the usual causes are a decaying tooth, gum disease and a sinus infection or problem. You can have any one of these regardless of your oral hygeine practices and you may not be aware of it. Until you are diagnosed with one of these or any other condition that might cause halitosis, try chewing fresh parsely and drinking lots of water. The parsely does wonders for bad breath.
Lifestyle and home remedies
Try the following steps to improve or prevent bad breath:
* Brush your teeth after you eat. Keep a toothbrush at work to brush after eating. Be sure to brush at least twice a day, for two to three minutes at a time.
* Floss at least once a day. Proper flossing removes food particles and plaque from between your teeth.
* Brush your tongue. Giving your tongue a gentle brushing removes dead cells, bacteria and food debris. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush or a flexible tongue scraper. Try to clean as far back as you can without gagging because the bacteria tend to collect toward the back.
* Clean your dentures well. If you wear a bridge or a partial or complete denture, clean it thoroughly at least once a day or as directed by your dentist.
* Drink plenty of water. To keep your mouth moist, be sure to consume plenty of water — not coffee, soft drinks or alcohol. Chewing gum (preferably sugarless) or sucking on candy (preferably sugarless) also stimulates saliva, washing away food particles and bacteria. If you have chronic dry mouth, your dentist or doctor may additionally prescribe an artificial saliva preparation or an oral medication that stimulates the flow of saliva.
* Use a fairly new toothbrush. Change your toothbrush every three to four months, and choose a soft-bristled toothbrush.
* Schedule regular dental checkups. At least twice a year, see your dentist to have your teeth or dentures examined and cleaned.
* Chew fresh parsley or suck on a sugarless mint. Doing so may temporarily improve bad breath.
if that doesn’t help maybe your having a gastrointestinal problem.eat regularly it could be an ulcer or what. go to your doctor
try going to the dentist, you may not be brushing your mouth correctly. it happened to my friend and my friend went to the dentist and they got a mouth cleansing. you should try having a mini mouthwash with you, still have mints and you should use mouthwash in the night before bed and in the morning after you brush your mouth.
—<<<<>>>>—-the mouthwash i use is listerine
You are on the right program, you are not going far enough. Because the majority of bad breath comes from the top of the tongue, not from your teeth. Bacteria grow on your tongue and produce sulfur containing compounds that smell. Bad breath is greatest in the morning because the bacteria have been growing while you sleep. Remember, to get rid of the bad breath you must get rid of the source of bad breath, the bacteria. Smelly foods, such as onions, liquids, such as coffee and smoking also collect on the top of the tongue and cause bad breath. The cure: brush and floss your teeth and then clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Use one that has both a brush and a scraper so you really clean out the deep indentations of the tongue.
