This is just like us humans too. Yeah sure brushing our teeth helps but we eat and eat, and we get the worst breath!!! Some people eat foods that wont give them bad breath, so for dogs try giving them that diet, and most treats "that cure dogs teeth" just whiten them. Hopes this helps!
have u tried brushing his teeth?
Denta Stix
Brushing his teeth may help. But he may have something stuck in his gum that is causing an infection. That infection will cause bad breath. It he is 8 years old, it is probably time for him to have a professional vet cleaning, and may need a tooth removed due to decay. It is a bit of an expense soemtimes, but will add years to your dogs healthy life.
A raw diet cured my digs of that problem. No need to brush teeth or do any dental work.
Take him to the Vet and get his teeth cleaned. Licking means allergy so discuss this with the Vet and put him on a better quality food. Make sure the food doesn’t contain wheat or corn as many dogs are allergic to these. Lamb and rice kibble is a good bet to start with.
