unfortunately, the treatment you receive to help with the cancer promotes the development of infection in the mouth. the smell is caused from gum disease. if you go to your dentist they will be able to recommend a mouthwash and oral hygiene regime for you.
Go to the dentist m’am
i am sorry about the cancer
god bless you
and chew gum that helps haha

Did you stop brushing your teeth when you were sick? Have you had a professional dental cleaning recently or within 6 months?
If you havent been to a dental office then go asap for a cleaning. Otherwise brush your teeth 3 times a day for 2 minutes each time. FLOSS daily. And go buy a plastic tongue scraper/cleaner sold in pharmacies and Walmart in the toothpaste aisle. You run it along your tongue to scrape off smelly bacteria.
If none of that helps then see your PCP for a check up. You might have a sinus infection or other health concern causing the bad breath. Also watch what you eat. Eating lots of garlic and onion can make your breath smell.
try calling and asking a nurse at the oncology dept where you went. they may have suggestions for you. or they may suggest calling the dentist. or they may suggest a check-up with your regular doctor.
good luck fighting the cancer!
Remove the amalgam filling from your mouth, pull any teeth out that are root canals, brush with natural mint toothpaste, take parsley pills 3 times a day with each meal and gargle with listerine 3 times a day in between brushing and food. If all else fails… Insert TNT in mouth and light fuse… Good luck! But the above instructions are for real!!!
It sounds like periodontitis, a bacterial infection which causes the breakdown of gum tissue, including the bone that supports your teeth. Without aggressive treatment, your teeth will fall out. This is a form of gum disease. Periodontitis is not reversible, but can be stabilized with frequent dental hygiene and personal oral hygiene practices. This needs to be addressed by a dental professional. Unfortunately the cancer treatments provided an ideal environment for the proliferation of the periodontitis causing bacteria.
Try a mintier toothpaste, use mouth wash listerine is good, eat mints throghout the day and also chew gum, if that fails go to the dentist theyll probably be able to help you
Not Just Brushing, Flossing is as Important!
Although we gargle with that all new mouthwash we just bought and some of us may be even brush twice, there is still a tinge of smell in our breath! Well, then maybe it’s time to floss it down! To know what exactly floss is and what is the right way of flossing? See http://www.medimanage.com/my-looks/articles/not-just-brushing-flossing-is-as-important.aspx
