Is it usual to have bad breath after a tonsillectomy?

I had a tonsillectomy on Wednesday, June 24. It has been 5 days since my tonsillectomy, today being Sunday, June 28. Aside from the excruciating pain, my mouth has an awful taste 24/7. And My breath smells disgusting when i breathe. Is it normal to have bad breath following the procedure?

Bad breath can come any time because the primary cause of bad breath is the tongue where bacteria produce those bad smells. I suggest you brush your teeth and then clean your tongue with a very good tongue cleaner. I use OraBrush tongue cleaner because it is designed to clean the back of the tongue. Remember, your toothbrush is designed to clean your teeth, not your tongue.
