In the days preceeding my period, sometimes up to 7 days ahead of time, I sometimes develop halitosis (bad breath). I’m not aware of it myself, but family members have told me.

I know hormones are responsible for just about everything that "goes wrong," physically, mentally and/or emotionally, in women before their periods, but it seems like bad breath is an odd one.

Has anyone else noticed pre-menstrual halitosis on someone else, or been told that you have it yourself? And does anyone know the cause? I’d assume bacteria is somehow involved. (FYI, I brush my teeth 1 or 2 times a day, floss daily, and have dental cleanings twice a year, so there’s nothing wrong with my mouth. *chuckle*)
No points to Hellsangel508, who claims there’s no such thing as premenstrual bad breath. WRONG! I finally had time to do some research, and here are just 2 of the several sites I found which document this embarrassing premenstrual problem:

No points to Piyu for telling me what I already know (and do) — brush my teeth often and drink a lot of water. Like duh! *chuckle*

So, the 10 points go to Sawyer! :) I might just try the chlorophyll idea — can’t hurt, anyway!
