You should be brushing after every meal, roughly three times per day for at least two minutes at a time. You should be using floss after every meal, and use mouthwash and a tongue scraper at least twice each day. Pay attention to what kinds of foods that you are eating. Also, do you have problems with dry mouth? Dry mouth and post nasal drip can cause bad breath, so keep hydrated and try nasal spray/drops. Have regular dental checkups (roughly once every six months) to ensure that you do not have cavities or gum disease. Also, you should go to the doctor if it is a concern for you, since underlying health conditions like diabetes can cause bad breath.
You might want to avoid gum and mints that contain sugar because sugar actually FEEDS the bad breath-causing bacteria!
You can also try natural cures such as baking soda, green cardamom, parsley/mint garnishes, brussel sprouts, and green tea. These help deodorize the halitosis.
First of all, you need to brush often and brush your gum tissue whenever you brush your teeth. Secondly, you need to use dental floss every single day. Thirdly, the tongue is a huge collector of bacteria and food debris and should be scraped with a tongue scraper every time you brush. You can also brush the inside of your cheeks and the roof of your mouth. Lastly, rinse twice a day with Listerene. Use it full strength and rinse for at least one minute. Before you spit it out, tip your head back and gargle for 20-30 seconds.
Another cause of bad breath is sinus drainage. If drainage is the case, see your M.D.

Make a habit of chewing saunf (fennel seeds) after every meal. This not just freshens the breath but also aids digestion.
Prepare a paste of sandalwood by rubbing it with water on a clean stone slab. Squeeze half a lemon in it. Use this mixture as a mouth wash. This will freshen the breath.
Bitter neem with its antiseptic and antibacterial properties is ideal for cleaning teeth. So brush teeth with neem twigs and neem paste. It is good for the gums also.

Apparently the most proven and highly recommended home remedy for bad breath is the mere practice of cleaning your mouth once you have finished your meal. Making it a habit to keep your mouth free from food particles stops the bacteria to thrive inside the mouth. Nonetheless, another possible way of curing this phenomenon is by eating another food, just like mint leaves which freshen the breath. Sunflower seeds can also help when chewed after a meal, followed with drinking a glass of water. In earlier times, fresh parsley used to be served after meals since it was effective in curing the bad odor caused by the meals. Aside from mint leaves and parsley, another herb that can help get rid of bad breath is clove, especially when chewed after a meal every day.
