I have had bad breath for awhile. I brush, floss, and use mouthwash. As a matter of fact, the hygenist always says how clean my teeth are. I brush my tongue but I still have a smelly coating what can I get? Thanks!

Bad Breath affects millions of people all over the world. Sometimes even brushing regularly, flossing and tongue scraping does not do the trick. You have to be careful in using strong mouthwash because they make your breath smell worst. Mouthwash mask the smell, it does not totally eliminate it. Look for a mouthwash with NO alcohol. Stay away from food that can stimulate bad breath like garlic, cheese and spicy foods.
You can also consider taking internal breath fresheners. Since you mentioned that you brush and floss regularly, I reckon there’s something going on inside. These products are usually made of natural ingredients with anti-bacterial properties and they are usually taken before or after a meal.
Medicated toothpaste, mouthwash and oxygenated gums can also help you in dealing with bad breath.
You can also drink raw juices from green vegetables to help stabilize bacteria in both your stomach and your mouth. If you want it plain and simple on how you can cure bad breath naturally, you can just gargle with baking soda dissolved in warm water.
Try to experiment. What works for somebody may not work for the rest of us ya know.
Try switching to a stronger scented toothpaste or mouthwash.
You’re tongue is usually what causes bad smells, so you really have to scrub it.
Try not eating foods that would cause that smelly coating.
Unless that coating was something seriously wrong I don’t think your dentist would prescribe anything. Go to dentist and ask.
tic tacs??? or chew gum… not big red or any cinnomon gum… that would make it worse. try ment gum or something like that.
ahahahaha petrol breath! =P
Apple Cider Vinegar can be used as an effective mouthwash that provides long-lasting relief from bad breath. Simply dilute 1/2 tablespoon of the vinegar into a glass of water and gargle it in your mouth for 10 seconds at a time. More useful remedies at http://sites.google.com/site/dentalinfosite/bad-breath
to answer your question, no there’s no prescription to cure bad breath.
you have to fix where its coming from. its usually from an infection, due to bacteria, pus etc. and maybe you have one that you dont know about? possibly even in your throat. but if you feel fine and the hygeinist says youre OK, then just try using a mouth rinse and sugarfree gum throughout the day. hope it gets better
Try Smart Mouth or Tri-Oral mouthwash, and have your teeth clean.
try using a tongue scraper
My dentist gave me surgery and inserted an expander and spacer with these mint typed things
